St. Supéry  is owned by the Skalli family which has made wine for generations in the South of France. While traveling in Napa during the 1970’s, Robert Skalli was inspired to create an estate winery in Napa Valley to make wines of distinct and respectable character. Dollarhide, an historic cattle and horse ranch nestled among the hills of Napa Valley was planted with the noble grape varieties of Bordeaux in the early 1980’s. St. Supéry’s Rutherford property became the home of the winery and first class cabernet Sauvignon vineyards.

The wines:

St. Supéry Napa Valley Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2011  This wine exhibits brilliant hues of light yellow speared by vibrant streaks of green. Aromas of exotic grapefruit and green lime dominate with hints of caper, fennel and lemon zest. Flavors follow with tremendous ruby grapefruit, citrus, kiwi and guava through a crisp finish.

St. Supéry Napa Valley Estate Virtu 2010 (Semillion / Sauvignon Blanc)  This pale yellow wine is speared by streaks of brilliant youthful green. Bright aromas of lemon zest, guava and pink grapefruit combine with seductive nuances of toasted oak and sur lie maturation. The flavors follow with lemon zest, lychee, guava, grapefruit rind and a subtle creamy hint enhanced by the smoky barrel notes. This is a vibrant, textured wine with tremendous flavor.

St. Supéry Napa Valley, Rutherford Estate Vineyard Merlot 2009   This tremendous Merlot presents a deep, rich purple hue. Blackberry, raspberry and dark cherry dominate the aromas with complimentary notes of anise, mocha and tightly knit vanilla oak. Dense blackberry fruit is laced with raspberry, dark chocolate and toasted oak. This is a wine of incredible structure, yet with a fine grain of tannin and a charming sense of style.

St. Supéry Napa Valley, Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 Full of body and structure, our Cabernet Sauvignon is masculine, robust, complex and expresses the unique terroir of our vineyard, Dollarhide. The hillside grown vines produce bold fruit with intense flavor that yields an elegant, lush wine layered with aromas of ripe berry and subtle nuances of chocolate and espresso.

St. Supéry Moscato 2011 Vibrant young hues of pale yellow and green present this wine. Opulent tropical aromas combine with peach, mango, kiwi, orange and lime zest. Explosive flavors follow with similar kiwi and mango, a hint of honey dew, stone fruit and a zippy orange rind finish. This sweet wine is terrific, rich and exciting, finishing clean and balanced.

About Petrossian and Chef Giselle Wellman:

Chef Wellman has worked in  the kitchens of  Mario Batali, Thomsa Keller, Jean Goerge Vongerichten and Tony DiSalvo.

In addition to caviar and other delacacies, Petrossian is known for its selection of French inspired American dishes, with seasonal California ingrediants.

From the LA Times, “Wellman is a minimalist. . . ..Her cooking is poised and direct. . . . .With a new and enthusiastic young chef, Petrossian stays on track with casually elegant French food and a taste of luxury. Despite its West Hollywood address, the boutique and cafe feel very French, with the added benefit that you can have an actual conversation over lunch or dinner at this civilized haven”

We are grateful to the St. Supery Winery and Petrossian restaurant for providing us special value pricing to enable us to bring you this event at a price that is less than the meal alone would normally be
